Shilpa Grace Samuel is a psychologist, therapist, and educator based in Chennai, India. She works primarily with individuals, couples, and families, with a strong focus on relational and attachment-based approaches. She is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and integrates its principles into her work with couples, helping partners understand emotional patterns, deepen connection, and rebuild secure bonds. Her therapeutic style is grounded, collaborative, and attuned, with an emphasis on creating safe spaces for emotional exploration and repair. In addition to her clinical practice, Shilpa is an Assistant Professor in the M.Sc. Family Counselling program at the Madras School of Social Work, where she teaches and supervises postgraduate trainees. She is also a therapy supervisor and the founder of The Zariah Project, a mental health initiative focused on accessible and reflective care. Her work is informed by systemic thinking, supervision practices, and a commitment to inclusive, affirmative therapy. She has received training in queer affirmative therapy and family therapy, and is an active member of the EFT community in India and internationally.
